Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) with Level 3 Nursery/NICU experience for a day shift position requiring NRP and hospital transport capability.

Details

• Work in the Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics-CRT unit of a hospital setting
• Level 3 Nursery experience required, including ability to attend C-Sections
• Provides care in Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, and NICU settings
• Performs in-hospital patient transports
• Epic charting system experience required
• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• Facility prefers 48 hours per week but is open to a 36/48 rotating schedule
• Works every other weekend with 2 Fridays in a 4-week schedule
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• CRT, CRTT, or RTT certification required; RRT also accepted
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NRP certification required to work in NICU
• PALS certification preferred
• LA state license required (License required if applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, higher experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Experience with ventilator management including CPAP, BiPAP, SIMV, and high frequency oscillator preferred
• Skilled in airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and suctioning
• Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment such as Bubble CPAP, oscillating ventilator, and umbilical blood gases preferred
• Experience administering medications including Albuterol, Atrovent, and inhaled steroids preferred
• Experience with ECMO, high frequency jet ventilator, and pressure/volume ventilators preferred
• Ability to draw and interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• At least two recent manager references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Deliver respiratory care and neuro diagnostic support across critical care, emergency, and neonatal units
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and provide airway management during emergent situations
• Perform pulmonary hygiene, chest physiotherapy, and nebulizer treatments
• Manage tracheostomy care and troubleshoot ventilator alarms as part of daily responsibilities
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team across various hospital departments
• Local candidates within 75 miles are accepted at the local rate
• Permanent staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before being eligible for travel assignments
• First-time travelers may be considered if they meet the minimum experience requirement of 2 years or more
