Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) with 1+ years of experience for a night shift position requiring an active LA license.
Details
- Hospital-based Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics unit setting
- Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 18:30 to 07:00
- Weekend requirement every other weekend
- Holiday coverage required
- No call requirement
- No floating requirement
- Uses Puritan Bennett 840 and 980 ventilators
- Uses Phillips V60 BiPAP
- Uses Pneutron, Newport, and Parapac transport ventilators
- Performs Nitric Oxide therapy, ECMO, and bedside bronchoscopies
- Epic charting system experience preferred
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- RRT or CRT certification accepted
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Active LA state license required at time of consideration (license required if applicable)
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Experience with adult critical care and emergency department settings
- Skilled in ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Skilled in airway management including extubation, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
- Experience with medication administration including Albuterol, Atrovent, and other respiratory medications
- Proficiency in arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation preferred
- Experience with oxygen therapy including High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
Additional Information
- Gray scrub color requirement
- Strict maximum RTO policy of 5 days or less
- Accepts local candidates within 75 miles at local rate
- Returning LCMC employees must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before being eligible for travel positions
- First-time travelers may be considered for this position
