Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN for a Level II Trauma Center, requiring at least one prior travel contract and a TX or compact RN license.
Details
- Works in the Med/Surg Telemetry (MS/Tele) unit of a short-term acute care hospital
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Day shift schedule, three 12-hour shifts weekly from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Every other weekend required
- Floating between units and sister facilities may be required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Uses Epic EMR system
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience required
- At least one prior travel contract required (seasoned traveler)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Telemetry monitoring experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and line management (central, peripheral, PICC)
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with respiratory support including oxygen administration and high flow nasal cannula
- Wound care and isolation precaution/PPE knowledge preferred
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care within a Level II Trauma Center setting
- Collaborate with rapid response and code teams as needed
- Must comply with department dress code: solid navy blue scrubs or uniforms for licensed nursing staff
- Free parking available in designated employee/visitor lots
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront prior to offer; minimal RTO preferred
- Local candidates accepted at standard bill rate within a 50-mile radius
- Former Providence facility employees may return as travelers only after a 3-month waiting period and if living outside a 50-mile radius
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
