American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with an days at a hospital setting, requiring an active CA RN license and prior OR experience.

• typical general surgery cases include appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, and inguinal/umbilical hernnia repair
• omy and inguinal hernia repair for Pediatric ear/nose/throat cases including myringotomy with tubes and tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy
• Additional ENT tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy procedures for general population
• Orthopedic total joint replacement procedures
• Thoracic surgery including VATS (Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery)
• Endoscopic procedures including colonoscopy and EGD
• PACU/Recovery support may be required
• Uses electrosurgical units and cardiac monitoring equipment
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• Floating between sister facilities within the state may be required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required, compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum of 1 year of Operating Room nursing experience required
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Experience with general, pediatric general, orthopedic, thoracic, and ENT surgical procedures
• Experience with endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopy and EGD preferred
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Documentation of full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across general, pediatric, orthopedic, thoracic, and ENT surgical cases
• Support emergency management, code response, and fire safety protocols within the OR
• Assist with electrosurgical equipment and cardiac monitoring during procedures
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel pay rate, though local candidates are accepted at a lower bill rate
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Candidates should not contact facility staff directly except for scheduled interviews arranged through their recruiter
• Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
