Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring 3 years of critical care experience and an active IN or Compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the ICU of a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
• Every third weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals for all travelers
• Cerner charting system used

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license required and must be in hand prior to start date
• Minimum 3 years of ICU experience required
• Current certifications required: ACLS and BLS
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilator management, ETT/NT suctioning, and interpretation of ABGs
• Experience managing patients with acute/chronic renal failure and CRRT/CVVHD
• Experience with cardiac drip titration and dysrhythmia management
• Experience with neurological conditions including CVA, EVD, ICP monitoring, and TBI
• Nursing degree from a college or university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
• Two supervisor references required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to patients in a Neuro ICU and Surgical ICU setting
• Care for patients requiring respiratory, renal, neurological, and cardiac interventions
• Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and failure
• Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates residing in Indiana are not accepted for this position
• Any current or former IU Health perm or PRN employee must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within IU Health must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility (90 days for out-of-state residents, 180 days for in-state residents)
