Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13-week assignment at a Level I trauma teaching hospital, requiring 2+ years of comprehensive IR experience and ARRT/BLS certification.

- 13-week contract assignment
- Schedule options include 4x10 hour day shifts (7:30 AM-6:00 PM) or 5x8 hour day shifts (7:30 AM-4:00 PM)
- One weekday call per week and one weekend call every 2 months required
- Reserved parking spot available for on-call shifts
- Must be able to float within clinical scope of practice as needed
- Uses Epic EMR
- Uses PACS and Siemens equipment
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of comprehensive Interventional Radiology experience required (more may be needed if experience is not comprehensive)
- ARRT-R certification required, ARRT Advanced certification preferred
- Current BLS certification required
- VA state license required if applicable, pending licenses accepted
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Level I Trauma experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience with abdominal/pelvic procedures including angioplasty, embolization, chest tube placement, ERCP, gastrostomy tube placement, IVC filter placement, liver biopsy, mesenteric angiogram, paracentesis, radioembolization, and stent placement
- Experience with vascular studies including angioplasty, carotid stenting, upper/lower extremity angiography, cardiac cath lab procedures, cardiac stent placement, and PTCA
- Experience with genitourinary procedures including catheter/drain exchange, cystoscopy, embolization, gastrostomy, biliary drainage, nephrostomy, percutaneous stone extraction, percutaneous transhepatic cholangiogram, and renal/ureteral stent placement
- Neurological stent placement experience
- Radioembolization and thoracentesis experience preferred
- Outpatient, OR, C-arm, and nephrogram experience
Additional Information
- neascular, genitourinary, and neurological interventional radiology procedures across abdominal, pelvic, and cardiac systems
- Perform a wide range of diagnostic and interventional procedures including biopsies, drainage placements, angiograms, and stent placements
- Work within a Level I Trauma teaching hospital environment
- Specialty-specific orientation modules completed during onboarding
- Maximum of 40 hours of requested time off (RTO) allowed per 13-week contract, must be disclosed prior to submission
- Any vacation time between offer acceptance and start date must be disclosed in advance
- Candidates must not exceed 365 total assignment days at this facility
- Previous employment as permanent staff or traveler at this facility requires 1-year separation and leadership approval before returning
- Candidates living within a 50-mile radius are not eligible for travel positions in this department
- First-time travelers may be considered if experience is comprehensive
