Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Cardiac Telemetry Float Pool position requiring 18 months of true tele/cardiac experience and prior travel nursing experience

Details

• Cardiac Telemetry float pool unit within a hospital setting
• Cares for cardiac telemetry patients including pre/post cardiac cath, post cardiac angiogram, post MI, and pre/post cardiac surgery cases
• Duties include titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips and managing sheaths
• Uses Cerner EMR system
• Day shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Must be willing to float to all competent units within the facility
• Must be willing to care for COVID-positive patients
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active MO RN license or Compact license required
• Minimum 18 months of true telemetry/cardiac experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), CPI, and NIHSS
• TNCC certification preferred
• Cerner charting experience required
• Must pass onsite EKG exam with 80% or higher on lethal rhythm interpretation during orientation
• Must complete 8 cardiac and 8 stroke CEUs
• At least one professional reference required for consideration
• Copies of certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response including Rapid Response/Code team activation
• Manage IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and peripheral/PICC line care
• Perform respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
• Manage heparin protocols and IV insulin/insulin drip titration
• Provide wound care and wound vac management, and maintain isolation precautions/PPE
• Support renal patients including pre/post hemodialysis management
• Navy blue scrubs required
• No block scheduling included in contract
• Requested time off will not be approved after submission
• Locals accepted at the same rate with no radius restriction
• Previous employees must have a break in service of at least 1 year before returning
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Completion of facility HealthStream education modules required prior to start, averaging 8 hours and non-billable
