Description
American Traveler is hiring a Mammography Technologist requiring 4 years of experience, ARRT (M) and ARRT (R) certification, and Hologic equipment experience.
Details
- Short term acute care, Level I Trauma Center, academic medical center setting
- Floats between 4 sites including Shoreline Medical Center, North Haven Medical Center, Long Wharf Medical Center, and Smilow Cancer Hospital (main campus)
- Inpatient and outpatient work settings
- Performs 3-D Mammography, Diagnostic Mammograms, Digital Mammography, and Screening Mammograms
- Uses Hologic 3D and Siemens equipment
- Epic charting system preferred
- Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM and 12:00 PM-8:30 PM as needed
- Every other Saturday, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM, with a weekday off when scheduled for Saturday
- Schedule posted one week in advance
- Some sites have late hours until 8:30 PM
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of experience in Mammography (2 years may be considered with Level I Trauma or travel experience)
- ARRT (M) and ARRT (R) certification required, license required if applicable
- BLS certification required
- Breast Ultrasound certification preferred
- Travel experience preferred
- Experience with Hologic equipment required
- Siemens equipment experience preferred
- Trauma Level I experience at a large facility required
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE, radiation safety, and universal precautions/core measures
- 1 professional reference required
Additional Information
- Cross-training as a Breast Sonographer preferred
- Teal scrub tops and bottoms required
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccine and booster required, with medical or religious exemptions only
- Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
- Weekend work required
- Floating to sister facilities required as needed
- RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
- Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
- Local candidates are not accepted within a 75-mile radius of the facility
- Pending state license accepted, but must be active prior to start date
