Description
American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer - Vascular with 1+ years of experience and multi-specialty scanning skills for a fast-paced hospital department.
Details
- Hospital-based ultrasound department staffed 24/7 Monday-Thursday and with 12-hour day techs Friday-Sunday
- Day shift, 5x8 hours, Monday-Friday, 11:00 AM-7:00 PM
- No call and no weekends required
- Patient population includes neonates, infants, and pediatrics
- Must be able to scan independently in a busy, fast-paced environment
- Requires multifaceted scanning skills including OB, breast, vascular, general abdomen, and GYN
- Vascular background needed for DVT studies
- Preferred equipment includes Samsung, GE, and Siemens
- Candidates will be required to float
- Uses PACS for imaging
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience required
- ARDMS certification required
- AB/OB/VASC certification required
- BLS certification required
- EPIC charting experience required
- NY state license required if applicable
- Experience with OB/GYN scanning including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester studies and fetal anatomical survey
- Experience with general ultrasound including abdominal aorta, appendix, breast, gallbladder, liver, pancreas, pediatric abdomen/pelvis, and spleen
- Experience with adult and emergency department patients, including portables
- Experience with renal/pelvis, bladder, hernia, ovaries, prostate, renal/bladder, uterus, and vaginal ultrasound
- Experience with small parts imaging including breast cyst aspiration, breast ultrasound, superficial masses, testicles/scrotum, and thyroid
- Experience with vascular studies including carotid, Doppler studies, lower extremity venous, peripheral vascular resistance, and upper extremity venous
- Preferred experience with lower extremity arterial, renal artery duplex, and upper extremity arterial studies
- Preferred experience with paracentesis and thoracentesis procedures
Additional Information
- Perform a wide range of diagnostic ultrasound procedures across OB/GYN, general abdominal, small parts, and vascular specialties
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for this position
- Returning staff must wait 6 months system-wide before reapplying
- Candidates with more than 10 days of requested RTO will not be considered
- Local candidates are not accepted for this position
