Description

American Traveler is hiring a Vascular Ultrasound Technologist for a night shift assignment requiring 1+ year of experience and ARDMS certification with AB/OB/VASC specialties.

Details

• Hospital-based Ultrasound Tech - Vascular unit within Radiology/Cardiology
• Busy department staffed 24/7 Monday through Thursday with 12-hour day techs covering Friday through Sunday
• Patient population includes preferred experience with neonates, infants, and pediatrics
• Must scan independently across multiple modalities including OB, breast, vascular, general abdomen, and GYN
• Vascular background required for DVT studies
• Night shift, 4x10 hours, 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM, Monday through Thursday
• No call and no weekend requirements
• Candidates will be required to float
• Preferred equipment includes Samsung, GE, and Siemens ultrasound systems
• Uses PACS system

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• ARDMS certification and BLS required
• AB/OB/VASC specialty certifications required
• EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement
• NY state license required if applicable
• Skills required include abdominal aorta, appendix, breast, gallbladder, liver, pancreas, pediatric abdomen/pelvis, and spleen ultrasounds
• Experience with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester OB imaging and fetal anatomical survey required
• Experience with bladder, hernia, ovaries, prostate, renal/bladder, uterus, and vaginal ultrasounds required
• Experience with breast cyst aspiration, breast ultrasound, superficial masses, testicles/scrotum, and thyroid imaging required
• Vascular skills required including carotid, Doppler studies, lower extremity venous, peripheral vascular resistance, and upper extremity venous studies
• Experience in Emergency Department and portable ultrasound settings required

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Perform independent scanning in a fast-paced, high-volume department
• Preferred experience with lower extremity arterial, renal artery duplex, and upper extremity arterial studies
• Preferred experience with paracentesis and thoracentesis procedures
• Previous employees eligible for return after 6 months system-wide
