Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN for a day-shift position requiring 2 years of experience, ACLS/BLS certification, and an active MI RN license.

Details

• Work in the Med/Surg Tele unit of a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals based on volume and census, with priority given to similar acuity units
• Uses Paragon charting system
• Epic charting experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license (Michigan) required
• Current certifications: ACLS and BLS required; CPI preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Epic EMR charting experience required
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, telemetry monitoring, and cardiac drip management preferred
• Experience with respiratory care (BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy care) preferred
• Experience with neurological and orthopedic patient populations preferred
• First-time travelers will not be accepted for this position

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to Med/Surg Tele patients including cardiac monitoring, respiratory support, and wound care
• Scrub color is flexible with no specific requirement
• Maximum RTO allowed is 10 days; if RTO falls during a holiday period, travelers must be willing to work at least one of the three major holidays
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be considered for this position
• Local candidates will not be accepted
• Previous employees must have a gap of at least 3 years before returning as a traveler
• Candidates should be prepared to complete up to 8 hours of orientation modules within one week of signing, ideally completed prior to start
