Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele unit requiring an active PA or compact license, BLS/ACLS certification, and 2 years of relevant experience.

Details

• Work in a Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:7
• Day (3x12, 7:00-19:00) and Night (3x12, 19:00-7:00) shifts available, with straight nights accommodated
• Cerner charting system preferred
• Floating required within the hospital and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius
• Holiday coverage required every other holiday
• Travel pairs may be accepted based on facility need, though matching schedules cannot be guaranteed

Requirements

• Active PA or Compact RN license required in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele nursing experience required
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy management preferred
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and cardiac monitoring/dysrhythmia management
• Experience managing GI, GU/renal, and orthopedic patient populations
• Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel position

• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are not accepted for this position
• Background concerns must be disclosed prior to consideration
• SSN, DOB, and RTO required for consideration
• Two supervisor references preferred
• Fingerprinting, drug screen, and required labs must be completed within 24-48 hours of signing
• Demographic sheet must be submitted within 48 hours of signing
• All compliance requirements must be cleared by the Wednesday prior to start
• First 8 hours of orientation are non-billable
• Approximately 1 hour of pre-start modules required before entering the facility
