Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN with cardiac drip proficiency for an ortho unit handling MS/telemetry overflow requiring at least 1 year of experience.

Details

• Work on an orthopedic unit that handles Medical/Surgical and telemetry overflow patients
• Patient ratios of 1:6-7
• Day shift schedule with 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts from 0700-1930
• Block scheduling may be accommodated
• Requires proficiency with cardiac drip titration including Cardizem, Tridil, and Amiodarone
• Involves cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management

Requirements

• Active Alabama or Compact RN license required, pending license applications accepted
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS
• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience working in large healthcare facilities required
• Skilled in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Proficient in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Navy blue scrubs required

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside at least 90 miles from the facility, local candidates will not be accepted
• Former permanent staff are ineligible for travel assignments for 10 years following separation
• Travelers must take a 6-month break after completing 2 consecutive contracts before returning, exceptions considered case-by-case
• Pre-start training modules required prior to beginning assignment
