Description

American Traveler is hiring a Level IV NICU Registered Nurse for a weekend-focused day shift contract requiring recent NICU and travel nursing experience.

Details

• Work in a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) within a hospital setting
• Care for pediatric and respiratory patients requiring specialized NICU support
• Perform tracheostomy care/management and ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Weekend-only position requiring every Saturday and Sunday plus one additional weekday shift
• 13-week contract with potential for extension
• Holiday coverage required
• Float required to other departments within the facility and to sister NICU units, including campuses within a 12-mile radius
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active GA or compact RN license required at time of consideration (no pending licenses accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of recent NICU experience required
• Level IV NICU experience required
• Recent travel nursing experience required
• BLS certification required
• PALS certification (American Heart Association only) required
• NRP certification preferred
• BSN preferred but not required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Must pass a medication competency test, with a second attempt allowed if needed

Additional Information

• Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill neonatal patients in a Level IV NICU
• Facility is a nicotine-free campus and conducts nicotine/cotinine testing for all candidates
• Minimal to no RTO (requested time off) will be accepted for this assignment
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply if their resume demonstrates the required skill set
• Active RN license must be in hand at the time of consideration; pending licenses are not accepted
• Two professional references from a supervisor level or higher, completed within the last 12 months, are required
• Candidates must be prepared to complete post-offer requirements quickly, including signing within 24 hours, labs within 48 hours, and license verification within 72 hours
