Description
American Traveler is hiring a Level IV NICU Registered Nurse for a weekend-focused day shift contract requiring recent NICU and travel nursing experience.
Details
- Work in a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) within a hospital setting
- Care for pediatric and respiratory patients requiring specialized NICU support
- Perform tracheostomy care/management and ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Weekend-only position requiring every Saturday and Sunday plus one additional weekday shift
- 13-week contract with potential for extension
- Holiday coverage required
- Float required to other departments within the facility and to sister NICU units, including campuses within a 12-mile radius
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active GA or compact RN license required at time of consideration (no pending licenses accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of recent NICU experience required
- Level IV NICU experience required
- Recent travel nursing experience required
- BLS certification required
- PALS certification (American Heart Association only) required
- NRP certification preferred
- BSN preferred but not required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Must pass a medication competency test, with a second attempt allowed if needed
Additional Information
- Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill neonatal patients in a Level IV NICU
- Facility is a nicotine-free campus and conducts nicotine/cotinine testing for all candidates
- Minimal to no RTO (requested time off) will be accepted for this assignment
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply if their resume demonstrates the required skill set
- Active RN license must be in hand at the time of consideration; pending licenses are not accepted
- Two professional references from a supervisor level or higher, completed within the last 12 months, are required
- Candidates must be prepared to complete post-offer requirements quickly, including signing within 24 hours, labs within 48 hours, and license verification within 72 hours
