Description
American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Med/Surg unit requiring a GA or compact RN license, BLS and NIHSS certification, and at least 1 year of experience.
Details
- Acute Care Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting
- 44-bed unit with 40 staffed beds
- Patient ratios of 1:5, potentially 1:6, for both day and night shifts
- CNAs available at a 1:8 to 1:10 ratio, sometimes used as sitters
- Telemetry monitoring available but monitored on a separate unit
- Uses MEDITECH EMR; prior experience preferred but not required
- 12-hour day shifts from 7a-7p
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage as needed
- Floating required to all acute care units, cardiology, or the Emergency Center for patient holds
Requirements
- Active GA or compact RN license required
- BLS certification (AHA) required
- NIHSS certification (AHA) required
- Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
- At least 1 prior travel assignment required
- BSN not required for this position
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care on a busy medical-surgical unit
- General orientation is 1 week and includes EMR training
- Floor-specific orientation is 2 days
- Caribbean Blue scrub color required
- Candidates must live outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
- Candidates employed by the facility within the last 12 months are not eligible for this assignment
- First-time travelers may be considered given prior experience requirements are met
