Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring 1 year of ICU experience and a compact or ID RN license.

Details

• Work in a 10-bed Intensive Care Unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Care for patients with heart failure, respiratory failure, sepsis, GI bleeds, strokes (TPA), post-code, and post-surgical complications
• CRRT patients are not assigned to travelers
• Maintain a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Titrate drips including Propofol, Levophed, Dobutamine, vasopressin, Fentanyl, Epinephrine, and Diltiazem
• RNs are required to read telemetry strips using Spacelabs monitoring (no dedicated tele techs)
• Charge nurse does not carry a patient assignment; Admin Supervisor and Crisis nurse available on-site 24/7
• One CNA per shift supports the unit
• Hospitalist on-site 24/7 and Intensivist available via telehealth 24/7
• Respiratory Therapists in the ICU 24/7 with vents, high flow, and BiPAP equipment
• Uses EPIC EMR
• 12-hour night shifts, 7p-7a
• Weekend rotation as needed, aiming for every other weekend
• Holiday coverage required if needed
• No call or standby requirements
• Floating required to Tele unit (aiming for 1:3 ratio, may take full assignment) and to Meridian and Boise ICUs
• First to float within the unit
• 1 to 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation depending on experience
• No blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests accommodated

Requirements

• Active RN license (state-issued or compact) required, active at time of consideration
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• Must be a strong team player
• Experience with EPIC EMR
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor reference from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity ICU setting including ventilated and critically ill patients
• Work alongside a dedicated care team including on-site hospitalists, telehealth intensivists, and 24/7 respiratory therapy support
• Scrub color is flexible as long as attire is clean and professional
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Permanent employees must be separated from employment for at least one year before applying for a travel assignment
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
