Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Medical/Surgical Neuro/Stroke unit position requiring NIHSS certification and at least 1 year of relevant experience.
Details
- Work on a 30-bed designated Stroke Unit that also cares for general medical/surgical patients
- Patient population primarily consists of stroke patients ranging from young adult to late adult (18-60+)
- Nurse to patient ratio of 1:6
- Unit staffed with a variable grid including RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and Nurse Interns, with the RN assuming full responsibility for patients on their team
- 13-week assignment with a scheduled shift of 06:45-19:15
- May be required to float to other units or facilities within a 35-mile radius based on staffing needs, patient census, and acuity
- Travelers will be notified before their scheduled shift if a float assignment is required
Requirements
- Active RN license (TN or Compact) currently in hand
- Current BLS certification (AHA)
- Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Successful completion of a proctored rhythm test
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant RN experience required
- Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
Additional Information
- Join a fast-paced Neurology/Stroke team focused on improving patients' quality of life and assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Strong teamwork and clear communication are essential to this role
- Local candidates are accepted, though a radius rule may apply that could affect pay rate
- Candidates must have a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
