Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a Special Procedures role requiring BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
Details
- Support multiple IR locations as assigned within the facility
- Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- 8-hour shifts totaling 40 hours per week
- Uses Epic EMR system
Requirements
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Moderate Sedation certification preferred
- License required if applicable
- Last 4 digits of SSN and date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide professional nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and minimally invasive IR procedures
- Perform comprehensive pre-procedure assessments including medical history review, medication and allergy checks, vital signs, and consent verification
- Prepare patients for procedures with appropriate education, safety checks, and care coordination
- Provide intra-procedure support as a circulating nurse or moderate sedation nurse
- Monitor patient status, vital signs, oxygenation, and response to medications throughout procedures
- Administer and monitor moderate sedation per organizational policies and clinical protocols
- Collect, label, document, and ensure proper handling and transport of specimens per facility and laboratory requirements
- Perform post-procedure recovery care including complication monitoring and discharge readiness assessment
- Provide patient and family education, discharge instructions, and post-procedure follow-up support
- Collaborate with physicians, technologists, schedulers, and interdisciplinary teams to support efficient workflow and high-quality care
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure readiness of medications, supplies, and emergency equipment per regulatory standards
