Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring at least 1 year of experience and a GA or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the Acute Care 2 (Med/Surg) unit of an acute care hospital setting
- 44-bed unit with 40 staff members
- Patient ratios of 1:5, possibly 1:6, for both day and night shifts
- CNAs support the unit at a ratio of 1:8, generally 1:10, and may also serve as sitters
- Telemetry monitoring is available but managed on a different unit
- Uses MEDITECH as the EMR/charting system, with prior experience preferred but not required
- 12-hour day shifts from 7am-7pm
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required as needed
- Floating required to all acute care units and cardiac unit for medical patients, or to the Emergency Center for acute care patient holds
Requirements
- Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
- Current certifications: BLS and NIHSS, both required to be AHA-certified
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- At least 1 prior travel assignment required
- BSN not required for this position
Additional Information
- General orientation is 1 week, including EMR training
- Floor-specific orientation is 2 additional days
- Caribbean Blue scrub color required
- Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility based on the address listed on the traveler's driver's license
- Not eligible for placement if previously employed by the facility within the last 12 months
