Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a free-standing Emergency Department requiring TX or compact RN licensure and TNCC certification for night shift coverage.
Details
- Work in a 15-bed 24/7 free-standing Emergency Department (FSED)
- Night shift staffing includes 3 RNs and 1 EMT-P from 18:30-06:30
- Patient ratios of 1:4 depending on acuity
- Uses Baxter pumps, Hamilton vents, GE cardiac monitors, and Stryker stretchers
- EMR system is Meditech
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required with no on-call responsibilities
- Floating unlikely as units are typically staffed to core, but candidate may float among 5 ER units if needed
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ALS, TNCC, CPI (or equivalent), and PALS or ENPC
- Skills in rapidly identifying Sepsis, STEMI, Stroke, and Trauma required
- Experience with airway management and ventilators preferred
- Strong critical thinking skills preferred
- No employment gaps of 90+ days in the past 12 months
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include splinting, wound care, IV starts, medication administration, assessments, reassessments, documentation, and oversight of EMT-Ps
- Ideal candidate is a compassionate caregiver with a strong sense of urgency and team-oriented mindset
- Must clock out for lunch breaks and any time leaving the building, and communicate with the CNC
- Scrub color/attire is royal blue, no hoodies allowed
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility as local candidates will not be considered

Cons
Only thing they will float travelers to antepartum or assign pp pts on hold in L&D unit more frequently instead of rotating the nurses.
