Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift LDRP position requiring 3+ years of experience and Epic charting proficiency.
Details
- LDRP unit caring for laboring patients from 35 weeks gestation, postpartum, and newborn care
- 12-hour night shift schedule (3x12, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
- Every third weekend required unless otherwise specified
- No call requirements
- Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- 12-week assignment length
Requirements
- Active GA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications preferred
- Epic charting system experience required
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Skilled in vaginal delivery assistance, newborn assessment, and postpartum care including couplet care and hemorrhage management
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and infusion pump management
- Copies of all required certifications needed for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive care for laboring, postpartum, and newborn patients including discharge teaching and car seat education
- Support breastfeeding and lactation, and assist with circumcision care and post-op site assessment
- Manage postpartum complications including hemorrhage and cesarean section recovery
- Maintain infant identification and security banding protocols
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply for this unit
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, must be finalized at time of consideration
- No RTO can be requested during orientation week
- Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
- Full compliance required to start on time
- Prior perm, per diem, or FCSS employees must be away from all facilities within the health system for one full year before applying as a traveler
