Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift assignment requiring 1 year of experience and a valid OK or Compact RN license.
Details
- Medical Surgical unit on night shift (4x12 hours, 18:45-7:15)
- Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required to like units within scope as needed, with brief unit orientation provided
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Epic charting system required
Requirements
- Valid OK or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
- BLS certification required in hand
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line and PICC line management, peripheral IV starting/maintenance, chest tube management, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, feeding tube care, heparin and PCA administration, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring, rapid response/code team participation, isolation precautions/PPE, wound care/wound vac management, and IV insulin protocols
- Preferred skills include port access/management, CVA care, ortho trauma care, chemotherapy monitoring, post-angiogram and post-MI care, and pre/post hemodialysis management
Additional Information
- May float to related units such as MS/Tele, Telemetry, Oncology, Orthopedics, Cardiovascular, Genitourinary/Renal, and Plastics based on facility needs
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
- Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- No travel pairs or groups will be accepted for this position
- No more than 3 days of requested time off will be auto-approved, and no time off is permitted during the first week of orientation
