Description
American Traveler is seeking an Outpatient Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of experience for a 13-week assignment at a Level II Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital.
Details
- Outpatient Physical Therapy setting within an acute care hospital
- 13-week assignment with day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Some Saturday shifts required
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Epic for charting
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of recent Physical Therapy experience required
- BLS certification required
- Active AK PT License required if applicable, compact license accepted
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience with orthopedic conditions including cervicalgia, low back pain, post-op cervical/shoulder/spinal surgery, and total hip/knee replacement
- Experience with neurologic conditions including cognitive disorders, MS, Parkinson's disease, post-stroke rehab, spinal cord injury, and TBI
- Skilled in home exercise programs and patient/family education
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting

- Facility is a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma acute care hospital recognized as a USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska
- Scrubs provided by facility
- Parking is free
- Open to first-time travelers
- Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Local candidates may be accepted at a lower bill rate
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
- Time off requests must be submitted upfront and are approved on an individual basis upon offer
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
