Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU position requiring a PA or compact RN license and prior critical care experience.

Details

Surgical Intensive Care Unit setting with possible float to all ICU floors
Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
Every other weekend (EOW) required
No on-call responsibilities
Patient ratio of 1:2
Potential care for COVID-19 patients

Requirements

Active RN license (PA state license or compact) required, no license history issues accepted
BLS and ACLS certifications required; TNCC preferred
Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience required
EPIC charting experience required
Trauma Level I experience preferred
Previous charge nurse experience preferred
Proficiency in IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care
Experience managing ventilated patients, interpreting ABGs, and performing suctioning (ETT, NT)
Skilled in CRRT/CVVHD and management of acute/chronic renal failure
Experience titrating vasoactive drips and administering emergency medications
Ability to interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
Experience caring for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
GI surgery care experience preferred
Knowledge of isolation precautions and proper PPE use

Additional Information

Facility is tobacco and fragrance free
Expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) or 1 of 2 if contract spans fewer holidays
May also be required to work during additional holidays such as Memorial Day or Independence Day
Maximum RTO of 7 days during the contract
Local candidates within a 50-mile radius may be considered at a reduced pay rate
Travel pairs accepted, though matched schedules cannot be guaranteed
