Description
American Traveler is hiring an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer with at least one year of cardiac experience and current RCS or RDCS registration for a Level I/II trauma teaching hospital.
Details
- Setting includes adult acute care, adult outpatient, emergency department, and ICU
- Performs adult echo studies including 2-D and 3-D echo, bubble study, color Doppler, imaging with contrast agents, M-mode, portable studies, RVIT, and RVOT
- Conducts calculations such as diastology, LV strain/LV volume, proximal isovelocity surface area, and Simpson's rule
- Uses GE and Philips ultrasound equipment and PACS system
- Epic charting system preferred
- Day shift, 5x8 hours, Monday-Friday with variable start times between 0700-0900
- Weekend rotation required to support coverage
- On-call rotation may be requested based on operational need
- Floating required as needed
- Expected to complete approximately 7 scans per day
Requirements
- Minimum one year of cardiac experience required, 2-3 years preferred
- Registered in echocardiography (RCS or RDCS) required
- BLS certification (American Heart Association only) required
- Graduate of an accredited ultrasonography program required
- ARDMS or CCI certification required; ARDMS RDCS AE or CCI RCCS preferred
- License required if applicable
- IV certification preferred
- Trauma Level I and Level II experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Prior travel experience required; must be efficient and able to meet daily scan expectations
- Must be comfortable performing procedures in ICU and ED settings using isolation precautions and PPE
Additional Information
- Facility is a Magnet-designated teaching hospital and referral center
- Pass/fail telemetry exam required prior to start with strict passing criteria for both adult and pediatric rhythm identification
- Up to two exam attempts allowed; a third attempt requires submission of a cardiac interpretation review course certificate
- Must live 50+ miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
- Parking permit required for onsite parking, with alternative transportation options available
