Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring a MO or compact RN license and at least two years of ICU experience in a large facility or academic center.
Details
- MICU unit within a hospital setting
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
- May be scheduled every other weekend
- 1:2 patient ratio
- Cerner charting system preferred
- Floating required within the ICU cluster, with possible floats to Med Surg areas if not needed in ICU
- 50% holiday coverage required during the contract
Requirements
- Active MO or Compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Experience with arterial line, central line, and PICC line management
- Skilled in ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, and ABG interpretation
- Experience with CRRT/CVVHD and management of acute/chronic renal failure
- Proficient in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Experience managing dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction
- Experience with continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation monitoring
- EVD and CVA/acute stroke management experience preferred
- Pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring experience preferred
- Must be able to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients, including ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
- Routine contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses in a 24/7 healthcare facility
- Rotating shifts, holiday coverage, and work during inclement weather required
- First-time travelers welcome if they have solid ICU experience in a large facility or academic center
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible to apply
- Candidates residing 51-74 miles away may be offered a local rate
- Maximum RTO of 10 days, with none permitted during the first week due to orientation
- Travelers may work up to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before a mandatory 6-month break is required
