Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a Critical Care Float position requiring 2 years of ICU experience, ACLS/BLS certification, and an active WA or compact RN license.
Details
- Work within a Critical Care Float pool covering Surgical ICU, Cardiac ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Medical ICU, and Bone Marrow Transplant/Oncology ICU, plus one mutually agreed Med-Surg unit
- Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:2
- 3x12-hour day and night shifts on a variable schedule
- Weekend shifts required
- Floating within the hospital required; no floating to sister facilities
- No on-call responsibilities
- Uses EPIC for charting
- Any color scrubs permitted
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; CCRN preferred
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, including cardiac, neuro, and general ICU skills
- Prior travel nursing experience required, including at least 2 assignments beyond home hospital
- EPIC charting experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Skilled in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and airway suctioning
- Experience with continuous IV sedation and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Experience managing CVA/acute stroke patients and post-neurosurgical care; EVD and ICP monitoring preferred
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and multisystem organ dysfunction care preferred
- Experience with IV insulin protocols, PICC line management, and IV therapy
- Experience with post-cardiac surgery care, Swan-Ganz monitoring, and TAVR care preferred
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing across multiple ICU specialties within a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
- Manage complex respiratory, cardiac, and neurological patient needs including ventilator and drip management
- Maintain up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination and booster status with no exceptions
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
- Prior UW staff must have an 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
- Time off limited to a 1-week maximum, with no RTO permitted during the first two weeks of assignment
- Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays during the contract
