Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level I or Level II trauma experience and a VA or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department of a Level I and Level II Trauma Center
• 13-week contract assignment
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• 36 or 48 hours per week
• Weekends required with scheduled days varying based on staffing needs
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
• Every other holiday required, with no time off approved around Labor Day
• Uses Epic EMR
• Travelers must float within their scope of practice as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (VA or Compact) required, pending licenses accepted if in-hand by the Wednesday before start date
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC (TNCC may be pending at submission but required before start)
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
• At least 1 year of Level I trauma experience or 2 years of Level II trauma experience required, including some pediatric experience
• Epic EMR experience required
• BSN preferred

Additional Information

• Provide emergency department nursing care including triage of patients
• Maximum of 40 hours of RTO approved per 13-week contract, must be disclosed at time of consideration
• Any vacation time planned between offer acceptance and start date must be disclosed to arrange an appropriate start date
• Specialty-specific modules completed during orientation, recorded in Workday
• Previous UVA Health permanent staff or internal/external travelers require 1-year separation and leadership approval before returning
• External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days and are not eligible to return once this limit is reached
