Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring Level I or II trauma center experience and a VA or compact RN license.

Details

  • Emergency Department setting within a Level I and Level II Trauma Center
  • Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Weekends required with scheduled days varying based on staffing needs
  • Every other holiday required
  • Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
  • Uses Epic EMR
  • Floating required within scope of practice as needed

Requirements

  • Active VA or compact RN license (pending accepted, must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications required
  • TNCC required (pending accepted but must be obtained before start)
  • Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
  • At least 1 year of Level I trauma experience or 2 years of Level II trauma experience required
  • Some pediatric experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • BSN preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency department nursing care including patient triage
  • Maximum of 40 hours of requested time off approved per 13-week contract, must be disclosed at time of consideration
  • Time off requests will not be approved around Labor Day
  • Any vacation time planned between offer acceptance and start date must be disclosed to arrange an appropriate start date
  • Facility policy requires 1-year separation and leadership approval for previous permanent staff or internal travelers
  • External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days and are not eligible to return once this limit is reached
  • Specialty-specific orientation modules required, completed during orientation and recorded in Workday
