Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department position requiring Level I or Level II trauma experience and an active VA or compact RN license.
Details
- ER department night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:00), 36 or 48 hours per week
- Weekend shifts required with scheduled days varying based on staffing needs
- Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
- Must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays
- Time off cannot be approved around Labor Day
- Level I and Level II Trauma Center setting
- Floating required within scope of practice as needed
Requirements
- Active VA or compact RN license required (pending accepted, must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- TNCC certification required (pending accepted but must be obtained before start)
- Minimum 2 years ER experience required
- At least 1 year Level I trauma or 2 years Level II trauma facility experience required
- Pediatric experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- BSN preferred
- Nursys license verification required for consideration
- Two professional references required for consideration
Additional Information
- Triage skills preferred
- Maximum 40 hours of RTO allowed per 13-week contract, must be disclosed at time of consideration
- Any vacation planned between sign date and start date must be disclosed to determine an appropriate start date
- Previous UVA Health permanent staff or internal/external travelers require a 1-year separation period plus leadership approval before returning
- External travelers are limited to 365 total assignment days and are not eligible to return once this threshold is reached
- No radius restriction applies to this unit
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
