Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring NIH Stroke Scale certification and remote telemetry monitoring experience.
Details
- Inpatient Med/Surg Telemetry unit caring for a variety of patients with multiple co-morbidities, specializing in stroke (neuro) patients
- 1:5 to 1:6 nurse to patient ratio
- Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend and holidays as needed
- Float required between all Cone Health facilities
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Remote telemetry monitoring experience required; on-unit telemetry monitoring preferred
- Experience with feeding tube care and management required
- Experience with accessing ports, blood product administration, central line care/management, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, and starting IVs required
- Experience with CVA and nasal cannula required
- Experience with isolation precautions and wound care/wound vac required
- Must pass a Pass/Fail EKG compliance exam with up to two attempts allowed
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care for cardiac telemetry and neurological/stroke patients, including cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia interpretation
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; no local rates apply
- RTO must be submitted with the application; no post-submission RTO requests accepted
