Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of experience and a KY or compact RN license.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit setting
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• PRN floating required
• Block scheduling available
• On-call required once every pay period (2 weeks)
• Meditech charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active KY RN license or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (AHA certifications only)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central/PICC line management
• Experience with blood product administration and starting/maintaining IVs
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP management and oral suctioning preferred
• Experience with chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac) preferred
• GI care skills including colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tube management preferred
• Medication administration experience including Heparin, Insulin, and PCA
• Wound care/wound vac experience preferred
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
• Rapid Response/Code team experience preferred
• Surgical drain management experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg and Med/Surg Tele unit
• Flu vaccination required with no exceptions
• Local candidates within 65 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Travel experience preferred but first-time travelers may be considered
• Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted and approved prior to confirmation
