Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Med/Surg Tele float pool position requiring 2 years of experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Float across various med/surg and telemetry acute care units based on staffing needs, including Geriatric/Palliative Care, Orthopedics & Trauma, Medicine, Surgical, Neurology, Epilepsy & Stroke, Acute Cardiology, Neurosurgery, Vascular, Heme/Onc, Solid Organ Transplant, Thoracic Cardiovascular, Digestive Health, Acute Care Special Pathogens Unit, and ED Boarders
• Position does not include critical care or intermediate care unit assignments
• 13-week contract on night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
• Schedule may include 36 or 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed

Requirements

• Active VA state RN license or compact license (pending license accepted, must be in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Level 1 Trauma experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• Two professional references required

Additional Information

• Must adhere to facility float policy, floating within scope of practice as needed across acute care nursing areas
• Maximum 40 hours of RTO approved per 13-week contract; all RTO must be disclosed at time of consideration
• Any vacation time between sign date and start date must be disclosed to arrange an appropriate start date
• Specialty-specific orientation modules required, completed during orientation
• Previous UVA Health permanent staff or internal/external travelers must have 1-year separation and leadership approval before returning
• External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days at this facility
• No radius rule for this position
• A variety of clinical background experience is preferred, though prior travel experience is not required
