Description
American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift float pool position requiring an active VA or compact RN license and Epic experience.
Details
- Part of the SRO Float Pool, floating across various medsurg and telemetry units based on staffing needs
- Potential float areas include Geriatric/Palliative Care, Orthopedics & Trauma, Medicine, Surgical, Neurology, Epilepsy & Stroke, Acute Cardiology, Neurosurgery, Vascular, Heme/Onc, Solid Organ Transplant, Thoracic Cardiovascular, Digestive Health, Acute Care Special Pathogens Unit, and ED Boarders
- Excludes critical care or intermediate care units, which are covered by a separate ICU/IMU float pool
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
- 36 or 48 hour scheduling options available
- Every other weekend required, along with 2 of the 3 winter holidays
- Floating required within scope of practice per facility policy
Requirements
- Active RN license (VA state or compact) required, pending license accepted per facility policy
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response required
- Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Level 1 Trauma experience preferred
- BSN preferred
Additional Information
- Maximum 40 hours of RTO allowed per 13-week contract, must be disclosed prior to submission
- Any vacation time between sign date and start date must be disclosed to determine an appropriate start date
- Previous UVA Health permanent staff or internal travelers require a 1-year separation and leadership approval before returning
- External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days and are not eligible to return once this limit is reached
- Orientation includes up to 16 non-billable hours of specialty-specific training modules recorded in Workday
- Candidates with varied clinical background are preferred, though prior travel experience is not required
- Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
