Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele float pool position requiring 2+ years of experience and Epic charting proficiency.
Details
- Part of the SRO Float Pool, floating across various medsurg and telemetry acute care units based on staffing needs
- Potential float units include Geriatric/Palliative Care, Orthopedics & Trauma, Medicine, Surgical, Neurology, Epilepsy & Stroke, Acute Cardiology, Neurosurgery, Vascular, Heme/Onc, Solid Organ Transplant, Thoracic Cardiovascular, Digestive Health, Acute Care Special Pathogens Unit, and ED Boarders
- Does not include floating to ICU or IMU/critical care units
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Every other weekend required
- Must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays
- Uses Epic EMR system
Requirements
- Active VA state RN license or multistate compact license required
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management skills required
- Level 1 Trauma experience preferred
- BSN preferred
Additional Information
- Provide telemetry and med/surg nursing care across multiple acute care units within scope of practice
- Must float within scope of practice as clinically needed per facility float policy
- Maximum 40 hours of requested time off per 13-week contract, must be disclosed at time of consideration
- Any vacation time between sign date and start date must be disclosed to arrange an appropriate start date
- Previous UVA Health employment as permanent staff or traveler requires 1-year separation and leadership approval
- External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days at this facility and are not eligible to return once this threshold is reached
- Completes specialty-specific onboarding modules during orientation
- First-time travelers with relevant experience will be considered
