Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift PCU RN with 2+ years of experience and AHA BLS/ACLS/NIHSS certifications for a telemetry-focused progressive care role.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting with cardiac telemetry, DOU, and stepdown patients
• Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (6:30 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Rotating weekends and holidays required
• Floating required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Patient ratio of 1:5 for PCU (1:7 for Med-Surg)
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Trauma Level I hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and rapid response protocols
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, ventilated patients, chest tubes, and high flow nasal cannula preferred
• Experience with central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration preferred
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (titration preferred)
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and insulin drip titration preferred
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization, angiogram, and cardiac surgery care preferred
• Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care preferred
• BSN required for international candidates
• Must complete drug screening within 12-14 calendar days prior to start, with willingness to repeat testing if needed
• Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry and cardiac monitoring care within a progressive care/stepdown unit
• Participate in nursing student support and clinical education alongside clinical care duties
• General orientation begins on Sundays and includes online computer-based learning modules (approximately 4-5 hours, non-billable)
• Must reside 100 miles or more from the facility's service area, as local candidates are not accepted
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply, though trauma facility experience is preferred for those without travel experience
• Only one active engagement allowed within the health system at a time
