Description
American Traveler is hiring an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer requiring RCS or RDCS registration and at least one year of cardiac sonography experience for a role at a Level I/II trauma academic medical center.
Details
- Works within an academic medical center's echocardiography department serving adult acute care, outpatient, ED, and ICU patients
- Performs adult 2-D/3-D echo, color Doppler, bubble studies, contrast imaging, M-mode, portable studies, and RVIT/RVOT assessments
- Utilizes GE and Philips ultrasound systems integrated with PACS
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, Monday through Friday with variable start times between 0700-0900
- Weekend rotation required to support coverage
- On-call rotation may be requested based on operational need
- Floating required as needed
- Expected to complete approximately 7 scans per day
Requirements
- Minimum one year of cardiac sonography experience required, 2-3 years preferred
- Registered in echocardiography (RCS or RDCS)
- Graduate of an accredited ultrasonography program
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association
- ARDMS or CCI certification (RDCS-AE or RCS); RCCS preferred
- Trauma Level I and Level II experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- IV certification preferred
- Proficient in diastology, LV strain/volume, PISA, and Simpson's rule calculations
- Experienced with isolation precautions/PPE and procedures performed in ICU/ED settings
- Must be an experienced, efficient traveler capable of completing daily scan expectations
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Perform echocardiographic studies across adult acute care, outpatient, ED, and ICU settings
- Complete a telemetry exam with strict pass/fail criteria prior to start, requiring 100% identification of lethal rhythms and an overall passing score of 80% within two attempts
- Located at a Magnet-designated, Level I/II trauma academic medical center ranked Wisconsin's top hospital
- Must reside within 50 miles of the facility; local candidates not accepted
