Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT, CRT accepted) for a night shift position requiring BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and Epic experience preferred.

Details

• Position within the Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics (RRT) unit
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:00 to 06:00
• Level III NICU experience preferred
• Pediatric and nursery experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience strongly preferred
• Work settings include Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department
• Performs airway management including suctioning, intubation assist, extubation, nasal and oral airway placement, and sputum specimen collection
• Provides tracheostomy care and management
• Administers nebulizer treatments via hand held, T-piece, and trach collar methods
• Delivers oxygen therapy using bag and mask, ET tube, high flow nasal cannula, T-piece, and trach collar
• Manages ventilator support including BiPAP and CPAP, troubleshoots high pressure alarms, and assists with weaning from mechanical ventilation

Requirements

• Active RRT certification required; CRT candidates will be considered
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• Current Nursys verification required
• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience required
• Basic critical care experience required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• License required if applicable, and must be in-hand prior to start

Additional Information

• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screen upon arrival, which includes marijuana testing; a positive result results in automatic cancellation
• Candidates should avoid any products, including CBD, that could result in a positive drug screen
• Must be available to complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting an offer or provide a completion plan
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible, as local candidates are not accepted
• Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application
