Description
American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for an outpatient float position requiring pediatric pulmonary function testing experience and RRT certification.
Details
- Outpatient float position within Pediatric Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics services
- Requires floating to all outpatient facilities
- Cares for patients from newborn to 21 years of age
- Performs pulmonary function testing including spirometry, plethysmography, DLCO, 6-minute walk stress testing, exhaled nitric oxide testing, metabolic testing, impulse oscillometry, methacholine challenge, and nitrogen washout
- Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- RRT certification required; CRT candidates will not be accepted
- BLS and RPFT certifications required
- PALS (American Heart Association only) required
- Minimum 3 years of experience required
- Pediatric experience required; NICU experience not required
- Prior travel experience required
- License required if applicable
- Active state license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted
- Must pass Basic Windows Skill Assessment at 80% or higher
- Two professional references from a supervisor level or higher completed within the last 12 months required for consideration
- Date of birth and Social Security number required for consideration
Additional Information
- Independently performs pulmonary function and diagnostic testing per national and departmental standards
- Provides non-critical respiratory care including patient assessment, aerosol therapy, patient education, equipment management, and airway assessment
- Addresses patient and family learning needs and treatment compliance across a wide pediatric age range
- May serve as a team leader overseeing daily operations, equipment implementation, and supply management under supervisor guidance
- Participates in care planning and suggests clinical alternatives to support desired outcomes
- Works as part of a multidisciplinary team
- First-time travelers are accepted if resume demonstrates required skills
- Nicotine testing is required; facility is a nicotine-free campus
