Description

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for an outpatient float position requiring pediatric pulmonary function testing experience and RRT certification.

Details

• Outpatient float position within Pediatric Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics services
• Requires floating to all outpatient facilities
• Cares for patients from newborn to 21 years of age
• Performs pulmonary function testing including spirometry, plethysmography, DLCO, 6-minute walk stress testing, exhaled nitric oxide testing, metabolic testing, impulse oscillometry, methacholine challenge, and nitrogen washout
• Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• RRT certification required; CRT candidates will not be accepted
• BLS and RPFT certifications required
• PALS (American Heart Association only) required
• Minimum 3 years of experience required
• Pediatric experience required; NICU experience not required
• Prior travel experience required
• License required if applicable
• Active state license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted
• Must pass Basic Windows Skill Assessment at 80% or higher
• Two professional references from a supervisor level or higher completed within the last 12 months required for consideration
• Date of birth and Social Security number required for consideration

Additional Information

• Independently performs pulmonary function and diagnostic testing per national and departmental standards
• Provides non-critical respiratory care including patient assessment, aerosol therapy, patient education, equipment management, and airway assessment
• Addresses patient and family learning needs and treatment compliance across a wide pediatric age range
• May serve as a team leader overseeing daily operations, equipment implementation, and supply management under supervisor guidance
• Participates in care planning and suggests clinical alternatives to support desired outcomes
• Works as part of a multidisciplinary team
• First-time travelers are accepted if resume demonstrates required skills
• Nicotine testing is required; facility is a nicotine-free campus
