Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with circulation experience in Ortho/Neuro and ENT cases for a hospital OR position requiring SD or compact RN licensure.
Details
- 4-bed OR unit averaging 7-13 cases per day
- Case types include Ortho, Podiatry, Neurosurgical, Pain Management, and ENT procedures
- Procedures include total joints, ORIF, microsurgery, laminectomy, fusion, discectomy, ACDF, Perc TAL for club foot, and pain injections
- 10-hour day shifts, with potential for four 10-hour shifts
- 8-hour shifts required during vacation coverage periods
- Epic EMR used for charting
- Potential to float to Rapid City hospital OR if needed
- Call required approximately twice per week
- No weekend rotation required
Requirements
- Active RN license (SD or Compact) currently in hand
- Minimum 1.5 years of RN experience required
- First-time travelers considered only with 2+ years of experience
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Circulation experience in Ortho/Neuro cases required
- ENT case experience required
- Completion of an approved nursing education program
Additional Information
- Support staff includes phlebotomy, resource nurse, and anesthesia/CRNA team
- No IV/VAT team, respiratory therapy, or hospitalist support on unit
- Orientation includes first-day computer training followed by 2-3 days with a preceptor
- Holiday coverage required for 2 of 4 major holidays (New Year's, Labor Day, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving, July 4th, Christmas)
- Time off requests require manager approval
- Scrubs provided by facility
- Free parking available
- Must reside at least 100 miles from any Monument Health facility
- Permanent staff must wait one full year before returning as a traveler
