Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab RN for a 13-week assignment requiring 2 years of cath lab experience and a South Carolina or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology department, with additional time in the IR holding department
• Care for adult patients with a variety of disease processes in a procedural area, including pre and post care
• Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, primarily 4x9.5 hour shifts (7:00-16:30) with occasional 5x8 shifts
• Rotating call required, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Call frequency is 1-2 days per week and every third weekend, with a 2-hour response time
• Typically manages 1-3 cases per week while on call
• Uses Meditech EMR
• Floating required within the hospital due to high patient-to-caregiver ratios, in accordance with facility floating policies and appropriate orientation

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• PALS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience required
• Skilled in IV starts, circulating procedures, telemetry monitoring, and conscious sedation
• Hemodynamic monitoring and PACS experience preferred
• Meditech charting experience preferred but not required

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care across diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, including left and right heart catheterizations, PCI, and stent placements
• Support electrophysiology procedures such as cardioversion, AICD insertion/programming, and pacemaker insertion
• Assist with vascular, pulmonary, neurological, and genitourinary studies and procedures as needed
• Administer and monitor procedural sedation, antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, and emergency medications
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Local candidates are not accepted
• Expected to work some holidays and weekends in rotation with staff
• Minimal to no requested time off during the assignment, especially in the first weeks
• Previous employees must have been gone for at least 1 year and left in good standing to be considered
