Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position requiring an active CA RN license and a minimum of 2 years of IR experience.

Details

• Work in the Interventional Radiology unit within a teaching hospital setting
• Pre/post procedure and special procedures work environment
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours with variable start times (approximately 8:00 AM-4:30 PM)
• 13-week assignment length
• Required to float to other UCSF facilities as needed
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BSN required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience required
• Pre/post procedure and special procedures experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skilled in End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, infection prevention, and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• Skilled in monitoring procedural sedation and obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG
• Knowledge of radiation and laser safety protocols required
• Experience administering antihypertensives, emergency medications, procedural sedation, and reversal agents
• Skilled in IV therapy, including starting and maintaining IVs
• Experience with care and maintenance of implanted ports and PICC lines
• Two professional references from most recent employer required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to patients in interventional radiology, including pre- and post-procedure and special procedures support
• Charge nurse experience preferred but not required
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as traveling candidates
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Travel pairs are allowed but generally will not be placed on the same unit; married couples may not work on the same unit
• All requested RTO must be disclosed at time of consideration and approved by the manager prior to offer, with no additional requests accepted mid-contract and none permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment
• May be reassigned to a different department, unit, or facility within a 75-plus mile radius at any time during the assignment if qualifications are met
• Any prior employment history with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed for a rehire eligibility review
