Description

American Traveler is hiring a Neuro ICU RN with 2+ years of experience and required teaching hospital background for a role at a leading academic medical center.

Details

• Work in the Neuro ICU at an academic teaching hospital
• Variable 12-hour Day/Night shifts, 3x12 schedule (7:00-19:30 or 19:00-7:30)
• Trauma Level I setting
• Epic charting system required
• May float to a different department, unit, or facility within a 75+ mile radius if qualified

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of submission
• BSN required
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Prior Neuro ICU and Trauma ICU experience preferred
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience required and must be reflected in employment history
• Epic charting experience required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in critical care procedures including EVD, ICP monitoring, arterial line management, central/PICC line care, ventilator management, and titration of vasoactive/sedation drips
• Experience managing neurological conditions such as CVA, TBI, spinal cord injury, and post-craniotomy care preferred
• 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to complex neurological and trauma ICU patients
• Care for patients requiring advanced neuro monitoring, ventilator support, and hemodynamic management
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
• Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed, including dates, units, and manager names, for rehire eligibility review
• All requested time off must be disclosed and approved by the manager prior to offer, with no additional requests accepted mid-contract
• No time off permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
• Travel pairs may be placed but generally not on the same unit, and married couples may not work together on the same unit
