Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring PCU experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

• Acute care Stepdown/PCU unit with 24 beds
• Patient ratios of 1:3-4 with nurse aide support at 1:10
• Common diagnoses include pneumonia, ARDS, COVID-19, hypertensive urgency, angina, cardiac catheterization patients, and ETOH withdrawal
• RNs are required to titrate drips such as Amiodarone, Diltiazem, Dopamine, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, and Dobutamine
• Uses CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen equipment
• Telemetry monitoring performed by remote monitor techs with RN approval
• 24/7 charge nurse and house supervisor coverage available
• EPIC EMR used
• 12-hour night shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM with possible flexing to days
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required, with primary assignment to this facility but potential floating throughout the region
• Standby call possible only if extra staffing is available

Requirements

• Active WA or Compact RN license required; pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• PCU experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS; pending certifications not accepted
• BSN not required
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to a stepdown/PCU population including cardiac, respiratory, and withdrawal management cases
• Titrate multiple IV drip medications as part of daily patient care
• Unit-specific orientation provided
• 2 winter holidays required
• No specific scrub color or dress code enforced
