Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Stepdown night shift position requiring trach/vent skills and a MO or compact RN license.
Details
- 22-bed Med/Surg Intermediate Stepdown unit
- Patient ratio of 1:3-4
- Respiratory-heavy floor treating respiratory failure, ETOH, overdose, GI bleed, electrolyte imbalance, COPD, and cancer patients
- Utilizes trach, vent, VAPO, and BIPAP equipment
- Uses EPIC EMR
- Night shift, 19:00-07:30
- Every other weekend required
- No call requirements
- Floating required to similar or lower acuity units as needed
- Night shift orientation occurs on day shift, requiring full availability that week
Requirements
- Active RN license (Missouri or compact)
- Current BLS and ACLS certification from AHA
- Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient Stepdown experience required
- Trach/vent experience required
- No gaps in employment exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation across all age groups
- Coordinate care with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
- Maintain professional accountability and evaluate care provided by other direct caregivers
- Level 2 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center environment
- Black scrubs required
- Flu vaccination or facility-approved exemption required November 1 through April 1; declinations not accepted
- RTO of up to 5 days allowed, must be made up during the assignment
- Only 1 holiday RTO request allowed per assignment
- Local candidates accepted, though bill rate is reduced for those within 50 miles of the facility
- Candidates within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before requiring a 1-year separation or reassignment outside the radius
- Teamwork, dependability, and flexibility are valued traits for this role
