Description
American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry/Neuro RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of experience and TN or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Acute care Telemetry/Neuro unit with 32 beds
- Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5 on day shift and 1:6 on night shift
- LPNs utilized on the night shift
- Charge nurse present on every shift and takes an assignment
- PCTs/nurse aides support the unit at a ratio of 12-15 patients per PCT, assisting with vitals, bathing, glucose monitoring, phlebotomy, and ADLs
- Cares for patients with cardiac, neurological/stroke, and seizure diagnoses
- Uses GE telemetry monitors; nurses read their own cardiac strips each shift with no on-unit tele techs
- Respiratory equipment includes High Flow and BiPAP devices used for less than 24 hours, with RN troubleshooting only
- EPIC EMR used
- 12-hour night shifts (7p-7a) with every other weekend required
- Self-scheduling and block scheduling available
- Floating required, with on-call as a last resort for travelers
- Holiday coverage assigned on a rotation basis
Requirements
- Active RN license (TN or Compact/NLC) required, pending licenses not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required
- Neurological care experience required
- Skilled in titrating drips such as Amiodarone, Heparin, Insulin, and Cardizem
- Driver's license copy required for consideration
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
Additional Information
- Responsible for managing cardiac, neurological, and seizure patient care on a telemetry/neuro unit
- Unit-specific orientation consists of 3 shifts
- Navy blue scrubs required for dress code
- Facility may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
