Description

American Traveler is seeking a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of L&D experience and an active MA RN license.

Details

• Work in a 15-bed Labor and Delivery unit with inpatient rooming, keeping infants with mothers unless newborn nursery care is needed
• Care for neonatal and adult patient populations
• Night shift schedule of 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Uses Omnicell medication dispensing system
• Utilizes SBAR communication method
• Charge nurse duties are not required or preferred

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Beginner certification required
• AWHONN Advanced and AWHONN Intermediate certifications preferred
• Cerner charting system experience preferred but not required
• Prior travel nursing experience required

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include labor and delivery management, fetal monitoring, and assisting with vaginal deliveries and cesarean recovery
• Provide antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care including newborn assessments, discharge teaching, and lactation support
• Perform IV therapy, pain management support, and administer medications such as Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate
• Support neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Previously employed staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
