Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical Oncology position requiring a CT or Compact license and night shift availability.

Details

• Medical Surgical Oncology unit within a Level I Trauma Center academic medical center
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00
• Every other weekend (EOW) coverage required
• Floating required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license (CT or Compact) required
• BLS certification required; ONS/Chemo certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, though 1.5 years accepted if from a Level I trauma center or large hospital
• Experience with chest tube care and management
• Skilled in interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Experience with tracheostomy care and management
• Post-surgical care experience required
• One professional reference required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only

Additional Information

• Provide medical-surgical oncology nursing care including chest tube management, tracheostomy care, and post-surgical care
• Facility is a large academic medical center and Level I Trauma Center with over 1,500 staffed beds
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Former staff members must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered as travelers
• RTO requests of up to 7 days can be auto-approved
• Travelers may be required to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities
