Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN with a CA license and 2+ years of experience for a night-shift position at a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma teaching hospital.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting on the MS/Tele unit
- Magnet-designated, teaching hospital with Level II Trauma Center status and 412 staffed beds
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
- Weekend shifts required
- May float to other ICU/Tele units as well as MS/Tele
- No on-call requirement
- Uses Cerner charting system
- No block scheduling accommodations available
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of experience required, though candidates with strong experience and less tenure may be considered
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred, though strong candidates without it may be considered
- Skills in respiratory care and care of ventilated patients required
- Cardiac monitoring and emergency response experience required
- Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias required
- ICU and Level I Trauma experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- DOB, RTO dates, valid state license, certification copies, references, and COVID vaccination status required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
- Strict facility dress code: no facial hair, no acrylic nails, no unnatural hair colors, all tattoos must be covered, no visible piercings other than earrings, and no hoop or extended earrings
- No specific scrub color required, but camouflage or character patterns are not permitted
- Free parking available
- Up to 5 days of RTO permitted with 1 approved holiday off
- Three missed shifts may result in cancellation of the assignment
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the standard bill rate
- Previous staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler

Cath lab is super traveler friendly, easygoing docs, nice coworkers, super easy to get to the facility from surrounding areas, great about scheduling what you needed off, LOTS of outdoor activities to do within an hour of here! Safe gated parking area (called the Cage), hospital is clean and welcoming, staff usually pretty great in all areas I went.
Cons
DO NOT STAY IN POMONA, stay in surrounding areas (San Dimas, La Verne, Covina, Glendora, Diamond Bar, Chino Hills, Claremont are all good).
