Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position at a Magnet-designated Level II Trauma teaching hospital requiring 2 years of experience and a CA RN license.

Details

• Work in the MS/Tele unit of an acute care, Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma teaching hospital
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
• Weekend work required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required to other ICU/Tele units as well as MS/Tele
• Uses Cerner charting system
• Specific schedule requests cannot be accommodated

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, though candidates with strong experience and less than 2 years may be considered
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred, though candidates with strong experience may be considered
• Skilled in respiratory care and care of ventilated patients
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• ICU experience preferred
• Level I Trauma experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• DOB, RTO, valid state license, certification copies, and references required for consideration
• COVID vaccination status required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care for Med/Surg Tele patients including ventilator management and cardiac dysrhythmia monitoring and response
• Up to 5 days of RTO permitted with 1 approved holiday off
• Three missed shifts may result in cancellation of assignment
• Strict dress code: no facial hair, no acrylic nails, no unnatural hair colors, all tattoos covered, no visible body piercings other than earrings, no facial or nose rings, and earrings may not extend beyond the earlobe or be hoops
• No specific scrub color required, but camouflage or character patterns are not allowed
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted
• Previous staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
