Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Oncology RN for a night shift assignment requiring an NJ or Compact RN license and 2 years of oncology experience.

Details

• Inpatient Medical Surgical Oncology unit
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
• Every other weekend required
• Willing to float to other units, including the Ridgewood Observation Unit if assigned to Valley Hospital-Paramus or the Float Pool
• Charting system experience required (any EMR)

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license
• 2 years of oncology or med/surg oncology experience (candidates with less than 2 years must have strong oncology experience)
• BLS certification required to start
• Prior travel nursing experience required with no history of clinical or professional cancellations
• Must pass a Basic Arrhythmia Exam with a minimum score of 80% (no retakes permitted)
• Proficient in IV therapy/infusions, accessing and managing ports, administration of blood and blood products, central line and PICC line care, starting and maintaining IVs, and chemotherapy administration
• Proof of completed COVID-19 vaccination series and booster required
• One supervisory/manager reference dated within one year of assignment start required
• Current Nursys verification required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within an inpatient oncology setting including chemotherapy administration and port management
• Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel assignment
• Local candidates within 75 miles are accepted at the local rate
• Candidates who worked in New Jersey within the past 7 years must provide verified employer name, address, and phone number for each NJ employer
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position due to required prior travel experience
